The Centre for Social Development Foundation – CEDESOCIAL addresses challenges and problems faced by women, children, families, and the society of the Colombian Caribbean with an approach that is based on individual rights and guided by a vision that is pluralist, inclusive, integrated, and incorporates a gender perspective.
CEDESOCIAL was founded 20 years ago by a group of women interested in the social sciences as well as the debates surrounding human rights issues and, particularly, the lack of awareness that exists in Colombia with regard to sexual and reproductive rights.
The Foundation engages with a wide range of consultants through involvement in areas such as:
Prevention in sexual and reproductive health
Domestic and gender-based violence
Entrepreneurship for youth
Support for grassroots organizations, in particular, those focussing on displaced women, victims of violence and community leaders
